Safeguarding Children and
Vulnerable Adults
The Bridge at Waterloo was set up in 2016 to help the economically and socially disadvantaged in our community. We aim to create a safe environment where children and all people – especially those who may be vulnerable for any reason – may be enabled to realise their potential with encouragement and in safety.
We follow all the relevant national guidelines, and have adopted the Safeguarding Policies and Procedures of St. John’s, Waterloo, where most of our activities take place. These are based on Church of England and Diocesan policies.
We aim to ensure that those in roles which require it (both volunteers and paid workers) undertake regular and appropriate Safeguarding Training, and our trustees endorse and review our Safeguarding Policies and Procedures, contained in A Safe Church, which is available at southwark.anglican.org/safeguarding/
Our Safeguarding Officer is Catherine Dormer. She can be contacted via safeguarding@stjohnswaterloo.org.
